Role of the Faculty member serving as Academic Advisor during an Internship
The role of the Faculty Advisor is to oversee the student’s internship experience and to provide support and academic advice when and if needed.

Some of the responsibilities of the Faculty Advisor include:
· To provide academic direction and advise prior to and during the internship
· To maintain appropriate contact with the intern throughout the internship
· To help the intern integrate the Science of Creative Intelligence into the subject matter being studied
· To serve as a resource for the student intern

When judging whether to accept the responsibility of acting as Academic Advisor for an internship, the Faculty member must consider his/her expertise in the internship subject that the student is exploring and his/her time availability for providing the student with direction and feedback.
Once the Faculty member agrees to be the advisor for the internship and after the internship has been approved,

1. The student and the Faculty Advisor meet to discuss academic goals and objectives, and decide upon deliverables for the internship
2. The MUM Faculty Advisor speaks with the on-site supervisor to establish contact and communication and to agree upon their responsibilities during
the internship

Length of an Internship
Regarding the length of an internship, and specially if informing and/or advising a student, please refer to the University Catalogue for the number of credits allowed for internships at every specific major (it varies from major to major).
Also, the student should contact the Graduation Director to make sure that the length of the internship will not affect or interfere with the student’s academic requirements.

Grading an Internship
Upon successful completion of the internship, the designated MUM Faculty Advisor is responsible for submitting a grade for the student intern. Typically, the means for evaluating the student’s progress and performance during the internship include weekly reports, online blogs and a final summative essay. The Faculty Advisor grades the student based on these deliverables and the final evaluation report from the on-site supervisor.
